Why moisturising is key for acne-prone skin
Oily skin needs moisture too. The trick is giving it the right kind.

Got breakouts? Your first instinct might be to dry them out.
Wash more. Scrub harder. Skip moisturiser. Basically declare war on your face.
The problem is that acne-prone skin still needs a healthy skin barrier. Over-cleansing, harsh products and too much exfoliation can leave skin dry, irritated and more vulnerable to inflammation.
So rather than trying to strip every last bit of oil from your face, build a routine that keeps skin hydrated while targeting the things that matter — excess oil, congestion, texture and breakouts.
DON'T SKIP THE MOISTURISER
Having oily or acne-prone skin doesn't mean you don't need moisturiser.
Moisturiser helps reduce water loss and support the skin barrier. The key is choosing something lightweight that gives your skin hydration without feeling heavy.
Light Facial Moisturiser is made for exactly that. It's lightweight, fast-absorbing and designed to hydrate without leaving a heavy film on the skin.
Because hydrated and greasy are not the same thing.
EXFOLIATE — DON'T ATTACK
Dead skin cells, excess oil and build-up can contribute to clogged-looking, congested skin, which is where exfoliation can help.
But acne-prone skin isn't the place for aggressive scrubbing.
Use The Charcoal Buff once or twice a week and keep it gentle. If your skin is actively breaking out or irritated, avoid rubbing or scrubbing over those areas. Apply gently and rinse away rather than trying to physically scrub a breakout off your face.
More pressure isn't more effective.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
You don't need ten products to look after acne-prone skin.
Cleanse → Facial Serum → Light Facial Moisturiser → SPF
Then add The Charcoal Buff once or twice a week when your skin needs it.
The goal isn't to strip, scrub and attack your skin until it behaves.
It's to keep the barrier supported, target the concerns that matter and give your routine enough consistency to actually work.
Work with your skin. Not against it.
